◊ Led a small team in the design and development of an application prototype for route and mobile workforce management via networked mobile devices. My contribution included the design of the touch screen UI, project architecture and all client-side programming.

Note: Two key features of this UI address usability limitations we identified in the field. Navigation buttons are overly large as the user would typically be wearing heavy work gloves and it would be impractical to remove them for every interaction. Also, the device was intended to be surface mounted on the dashboard of the vehicle, which presented a couple of challenges – glare from direct sunlight and a less than ideal viewing angle (120°-150°). We found that shades of gray provided superior contrast and visibility in these conditions.
